Dressy yet sporty. Structured yet feminine. The Luxe Parka is about playing with contrasts and combining them in ways to create a beautiful and unique design.
We took a special occasion fabric that is often used for gowns and formal dresses – a gorgeous wool/silk with a satiny shine and more structured body than drape – and made it into a classically sporty style. For dressy occasions, the Luxe Parka is an unexpected way top off a formal outfit, while for more casual wear, it definitely makes a statement when paired with jeans!
The details provide a lot of styling options. We added a typical drawstring waist – including an elastic cord – that can be cinched or worn loose. Zip up the front with a two-way zipper for more styling options. The notched sleeve cuffs can be worn down or folded up into a three-quarter length.
We also added a special dressmaker detail. The trench coat-inspired back and front flaps feature parallel rows of stitching – called channel stitching – to play up the curved lines. The shaped hem is curved as well and can be channel stitched or left plain – two options for this.
The Luxe Parka is really a statement piece, which is why we are offering it as a made-to-measure garment. We work with each client to choose the fabric/color combination; the lining fabric; and any special hardware and trims -- then we make the garment to fit. If you want the style in a different type of fabric, we can work with you to find what you want that will work for the design. If you want less channel stitching or a different type of trim, we can do that as well.
From a winter white that could work as a sporty topper for a wedding dress to a vibrant red that would be perfect over a navy/white striped mariner's shirt and white jeans -- below are just some of the wool/silk colors to choose from!
This is such a special garment – we want to ensure that what you receive is one-of-a-kind and reflects your personal style. Contact us if you would like more information. And as always, stay connected with us on Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter or Facebook!
